Project: Garden design for a windy exposed site, daily soft landscaped with occasional seating and destinations.
Style: Naturalistic, with curving lawns.
The design brief for this garden was to create bold borders, seasonal interest, and a journey with a secluded seating area at the very end of the garden. Planting was really important for this garden design. The design draws on the rolling hills of the south downs, with curves in the lawns enhanced with bold drifts of planting.
Planting colours focused on yellows and oranges, with copper undertones, and blues and purples, all softened with the haze of grasses located throughout the planting design. All plants have been chosen to withstand the exposure and chalk soils.
