I am Bo MAPL MSGD!

I am a mother, a biophile and a pilot! And if I get to be all three in the same day then I am winning!

I am a Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers and the Designer Liaison for the Association of Professional Landscapers.

I was mentored by some of the very best designers in our industry. I now pay forwards and mentor emerging designers in my garden design studio.

Apparently I am a well-respected member of the industry but I couldn’t possibly comment!

Researchers

Our research posts are for students and recent graduates who want to gain some work experience in an active studio before setting up their own design practice. There is no better place to really learn about the day-to-day workings of a design practice than to spend a bit of time in one.

If you are interested in spending some time as a researcher and be mentored in the studio, please call Bo on 01273 474705 or email studio@bocook.co.uk

Your drawings are all produced using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

Products and Construction

We aim to utilise local manufactures and fabricators for products and materials. We specify materials manufactured in the UK where possible, and use local landscape contractors.

Where materials are imported, we endeavour to ensure there is a paper trail showing good working environments and fair pay for workers.

Re-use, Reduce and Recycle

We re-use materials on site if we can, seeing this as an interesting design challenge! It is a nice touch to incorporate some of the garden's previous history into the new design.

Designs are considered so that material cuts and wastage are reduced, reducing the quantities of garden material needing to leave the site for landfill/recycling.

Natural Environment - Wildlife

Existing garden habitats are enhanced and new ones are created in order to increase habitat diversity and support wildlife.

Ponds, meadows, copses and species rich borders all help our native biodiversity. We also consider structural diversity in our planting schemes to ensure a greater variety of species are supported.
