Client: Family living in the countryside just outside Lewes.
Project: Rear garden design including lower and upper terraces and lawns with feature planting.
Style: Contemporary with a soft colour palette.
The grade listed house was being renovated so needed a terrace to compliment the modern style. An existing pool also needed a terrace and a route from the house walk up to enjoy it. A garden pond was also integral to the design brief. Using a linear design with stone capped rendered walls, with matching stone for the terrace in warm tones allows the garden the contemporary feel, which allowing it to sit gently in the rural landscape. A sundowner deck, a well positioned bench to enjoy long views to the village church, and a bistro table provide further opportunity over the dining table to enjoy the garden from different places at different parts of the day. Sun loungers and hammocks allow for shade and sun bathing!
